The Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris spotlights the works of Sarah Moon, at the heart of a retrospective to be seen from September 18, 2020 to January 10, 2021. The exhibition showcases the fashion photographer 's greatest snapshots, highlighting a universe somewhere between fairy tale and dark romanticism. A must-see to rediscover the works of this great artist.
The retrospective at the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris showcases photographs and films that trace the career and personality of Sarah Moon. The uniqueness of her work becomes apparent: the photographer sets up a real narrative in her photos, imbued with a sense of surprise and the unexpected.
The subjects of these shots - animals, plants, people, flowers... - are no exception to the artist's will, who imprints his personality on each of his works. Taken together, they form a " ballad ", a term used by the photographer to describe her work and her pictorial research.
Films also punctuate this retrospective, reminding us that Sarah Moon hides more than one talent in her bag. Part of theexhibition takes a look at Robert Delpire, the artist's companion and publisher, and one of the founders of the Centre national de la photographie.
Lovers of fashion, photography and fashion photography, we'll all be at the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris to admire the retrospective devoted to Sarah Moon. We can also take advantage of the two other exhibitions taking place at the museum at the same time: Hubert Duprat and Victor Brauner. See you at the museum!
