Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the implementation of a new lockdown, the Cité des Sciences and the Palais de la Découverte are closing starting this Friday October 30, 2020 and until further notice.

Like this past March, the Cité des Sciences et de l'industrie must close to the public because of the new national lockdown as announced on October 28, 2020 by President Macron. He decided to close all non necessary places starting Friday October 30, 2020 and until December 1 at the earliest.

A hard blow for museums as they have already suffered from the lack of visitors. Even though the cultural life in Paris was growing stronger these past few months, this new lockdown sounds the death knell to the art activity. Ongoing and upcoming exhibitions are sustained until futher notice.

This is the case for the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie in Paris 19th arrondissements and the Palais de la Découverte in the 8th arrondissement. These two Parisian monuments have announced to shut down from Friday October 30, 2020 and December 1, 2020 at the earliest.

Other museums are also shutting down such as the Louvre, the Palace of Versailles, the Musée Delacroix, the Atelier des Lumières, the Musée du Quai Branly and even the Musée de l'Orangerie.
