The new exhibition cycle of the Bourse de Commerce - Pinault Collection is unveiled! From February 8 to September 11, 2023, we are raising awareness of the fragility of the world. Entitled Before the Storm, this artistic season brings together a series ofexhibitions in which new creations blend with the museum's permanent collections. To do this, the entire museum space has been rethought and transformed. We are now in for monumental and immersive installations through a new scenography conceived over the course of the seasons and according to new ecosystems.
The sun or the rain, the shadows of the night, the light of the sun, the nature which lives again and the snowy landscapes of the winter... Nature is an endless source of inspiration for artists. Nowadays, the threat of climate change also contributes to nourish the creative spirit of contemporary creators.
Installations, films, sculptures, paintings, these works address the fear of theapocalypse, the damage of nuclear attacks and incidents that can decimate cities and lives in an instant. In these post-apocalyptic visions, animals can once again take possession of these vast spaces.
Nature is also questioned in unusual installations, which make us think. The border between the natural and theartificial is evoked with Anicka Yi, who stages vegetal cocoons that shelter robotic insects. In Alina Szapocznikow's work, the boundaries between the human, the vegetal and the artificial become blurred...
