Street art invades a legendary former store in the Barbès district of Paris. From January 27 to February 16, 2023, come and discover "Les Enfants de Tati", a free urban art exhibition featuring works by 14 artists spread over two levels.

Calling all street art enthusiasts to discover the capital's most unusual venues! While the Colors Festival makes its return to Paris this winter, another event dedicated to urban art is currently attracting the curious. Called " Les Enfants de Tati ", this free exhibition can be admired in the aisles and on the walls of a former legendary Parisian store. You may have guessed it, but it's Tati Barbès.

Closed since September 2021, this historic 18th arrondissement venue will soon be sporting a new look. Following a call for projects, the legendary address will unveil housing, offices and shops.

Meanwhile, since September 2022, the former Tati Barbès has been home to the Union de la Jeunesse Internationale. A temporary occupancy project run by Immobel (owner), Les Oiseaux Migrateurs and Forest (transitional urban planning agency), this cultural venue features an exhibition space, a radio station and a small canteen.

From January 27 to February 16, 2022, an astonishing street art exhibition is also on offer. Organized by Gringo Production, in collaboration with the Union de la Jeunesse Internationale and Maison Château Rouge, this installation " Les Enfants de Tati " truly transforms the former Tati Barbès store, turning it into an incredible ephemeral gallery dedicated to urban art."By presenting this exhibition, Gringo Production brings L'Art Urbain Contemporain to one of the symbols of the 18th arrondissement and continues to support artistic and creative initiatives in the capital's neighborhoods" explains Union Jeunesse Internationale on its social networks.

The strength of this installation? To exhibit works in a wide variety of styles (minimalist, cartoon, traditional, avant-garde...). The techniques used are also intended to be different, showing all the diversity and complexity of urban art (acrylic, aerosol, ink, spray paint...).

The exhibition also has a few surprises in store: firstly, there are the surprising notes of classical music played in the projection room. There's also a piece of an old subway train covered in graffiti, and sneaker sculptures upstairs... But we won't tell you more. The best thing to do is to discover this great exhibition for yourself. And since it's free, you'd be really wrong to miss out. And if you're an avid collector and fall under the spell of one of these works, you can try to buy it on the Gringo Production website.

Make your way over to the former Tati Barbès store in the 18th arrondissement to admire the works of these street artists. The ephemeral gallery will also be offering a workshop for younger visitors, as well as two free lectures ( registration required). The first is scheduled for February 4, on the theme of " La rue/la toile, 2 universes pour un même artiste ". Tore, Nebay and Yosh are expected to take part.
