The Vever dynasty of jewelers was founded in Metz in 1821 by Pierre-Paul Vever, then taken over by his son Ernest, who won his first Grand Prix at the Exposition Universelle de Metz in 1861. In 1871, Ernest decided to move to Paris, where he bought the jewelry store from Gustave Beaugrand, supplier to Napoleon III, before handing it over to his sons, Paul and Henri, ten years later.
Henri Vever, an artist trained in painting by Gérôme, is the central figure of the exhibition. A true pioneer of Art Nouveau, he transformed Vever into the benchmark for French jewelry excellence at the beginning of the 20th century. Henri won five Grand Prix at the great exhibitions of the time, and counted among his clients the Shah of Persia, Tsar Alexander II and the Belle Otéro.

Theexhibition, organized by Camille Vever, representative of the 7th generation of the dynasty, highlights the jeweler's creative universe amidst archives dating back to 1900. It's a great opportunity to discover the secrets of the Maison's jewelry, but also to explore jewelry-making know-how, the beauty of enamel and the magic of synthetic diamonds, created in the laboratory.

A unique journey to the heart of the history and precious treasures of one of France's greatest jewelry houses!
