Mireille the bee, Léon the bumblebee, Marie the ant, Loulou the louse... All those little characters you know so well are in the spotlight at the Gallimard gallery, from May 24 to July 13, 2024. In a free exhibition, the art gallery invites us to plunge back into childhood, by giving pride of place to these creatures that have enchanted so many children.
After its exhibition devoted to Martine, Gallimard is turning its attention to other heroes of our youth. The gallery is organizing an exhibition entitled Les drôles de petites bêtes by Antoon Krings, in its space in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. The exhibition highlights these famous characters, who first appeared in illustrated children's books in 1994, and were brought to life in the animated series broadcast in 2001.
The exhibition brings together 30 years of stories, characters and imagination through various drawings and sketches by the artist. Visitors of all ages should enjoy these works, which trace the evolution of the series and the creation of each iconic character. It's an opportunity to rediscover forgotten characters, and to shed light on children's literature, which is far more complex than it seems.
A lovely exhibition for the whole family to enjoy free of charge during these fine days! And after your visit, why not take a stroll in one of the capital's parks or gardens, and see if you can spot any funny little creatures?
