New: an open-air trench at the Grande Guerre museum

Published by Communiqué Sponsorisé · Published on November 18, 2024 at 05:27 p.m.
Follow in the footsteps of the 600,000 men from Black Africa, the West Indies, Oceania, Asia and North Africa who came to fight far from home on the various fronts of the war in Europe in a major exhibition at the Musée de la Grande Guerre. From April 4 to December 30, 2024. The Musée de la Grande Guerre expands! Come and discover an installation never before seen in France: an open-air trench.

The museum enriches its offer and gives the public a better understanding of one of the most striking symbols of the Great War: its trenches.
This new space, within the park, offers a unique immersive experience accessible to all, transporting you to the heart of the trenches of the First World War.

The Museum of the Great War's trench design aims to provide a perfect scientific and historical representation of the 1:1 trench system, while preserving the museum's architectural and scenographic coherence.

Discover artillery, rescue and listening posts, a soldiers' shelter, firing benches and no-man's-land with its pig tails, frieze horses and barbed wire, all set to a soundtrack.
