This Saturday, June 22, 2024, the Musée de Sèvres is organizing a major Art Marathon open to all! From 2pm to 5pm, young and old alike are invited to explore the links between art and sport with manual, creative and fun activities on the theme of the body. It's free!

Did you know? Since 1740, the Manufacture de Sèvres has been producing porcelain pieces for the French government and major national events. For example, the trophy vases that will be presented to the French gold medallists at the Paris 2024 Games were made at the Manufacture de Sèvres by six artists from the Beaux-Arts de Paris.

This Saturday, June 22, with the Olympic Games just a month away, the Musée de la Manufacture de Sèvres is opening its doors to the public to showcase its involvement in the world of sport, and in particular its sports-related works. You can discover the trophy vases of the Olympic Games and learn more about their creation during free presentations open to all.

The Musée de Sèvres Art Marathon program:

  • Activities in the collections, from 2 to 5:30 p.m.

Ancient games, the heroic exploits of Hercules or Japanese ritual dances will hold no more secrets for you, thanks to fun family activities.

  • Modeling workshops, 2 to 4:30 p.m.

From age 6, make your own earthenware Olympic medal. 30-minute workshop, on-site registration only!

  • Presentation of the trophy vases for the 2024 Olympics, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Discover the trophy vases made at the Manufacture de Sèvres by six artists from the Beaux-Arts de Paris, which will be presented to the French gold medalists at the Paris 2024 Games.

And for children, a booklet-game invites them to explore the Museum in search of works related to sport!
