Funny Olympics are taking place at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature... Artists from the Plonk & Replonk-Bébert collective invade the museum's collections with their playful and original works, to be admired from June 4 to September 22, 2024.
The 1, 2... 4 Podium! exhibition draws inspiration from the paintings and subjects of the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature to create new installations and works on the theme of the Olympic Games. An unexpected and comical mix, which should appeal to visitors of all ages.
There's a sporty rooster looking after his "competition egg", a duck ice-skating, a champion high jump dog, a polar bear playing table tennis... The artists have taken up famous scenes and characters from the collections of the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, diverting them or giving a new meaning to the painting. Using photomontage, collage and paint, these naturalistic works, hunting scenes and still lifes take on an unexpected, more sporting dimension.
Some twenty playful and surprising works have been installed in the museum's permanent collections. This new ephemeral tour is full of surprises...
The Plonk & Replonk- Bébert artists were also given carte blanche to transform the museum's courtyard. Here, we can discover a large, amusing installation that questions the idea of victory and merit. Animals in sports gear share the steps of a reinvented podium.
This summer, don't miss this fun and unusual exhibition, part of theCultural Olympiad in Paris.
