For Paris Design Week 2024, take a detour to the Hôtel de Lamoignon, where thefree exhibition "Village Palace" will be on display from September 4 to 15, 2024. The 16th and 17th century mansion, home to the Bibliothèque historique de la Ville de Paris, is hosting this unique installation by three talented young designers: Prisca Razafindrakoto, Jean-Baptiste Durand, and Simon Geringer, whom we met at Paris Design Week Factory in 2023.
Their specialties? Prisca explores the limits of craft and design through metal, Jean-Baptiste reinvents ceramics by playing with textures and uses, while Simon draws inspiration from industrial codes to design surprising objects. Together, they imagine a reinvented village square, mixing design, graphics and art, offering a modern reinterpretation of the traditional urban space.
The"Village Palace" exhibition, created from scratch by 40 young designers, answers the question: "What would a village square look like if inspired designers were given carte blanche?".
Not far away, in the Cour Basse of the address, the 2024 winners of the Filière Bois competition, FIBOIS, unveil their installation designed to meet environmental challenges.
A visit is a must!
