Fancy a 19th-century-style picnic on the outskirts of Paris? On Sunday, June 10, 2018, head to Cernay-la Ville in the Yvelines to have your wish granted. In the heart of the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Nature Park, you and your family or friends can rediscover the atmosphere of 19th-century lunches on the grass.
More precisely, it's at the foot of the Petit Moulin des Vaux de Cernay that the curious are invited to share a lovely moment together. Following the paths once used by artists and excursionists, visitors will be immersed in the unspoilt atmosphere of centuries gone by.
Close to the mill, you'll come across landscape painters in action, as well as costumed actors who, through theatrical sketches, will bring to life those distant times when painters and inns took possession of these grandiose landscapes.
A ball, a photo area and old-time games for young and old will also be on offer throughout the afternoon. And the Petit Moulin museum will be free for the occasion.
An escape from the city, a breath of fresh air, an unmissable rendezvous for lovers of nature and painting.
