Rendez-vous aux jardins is an exceptional opportunity for lovers of nature and horticulture to discover and explore exceptional and often little-known gardens in all their splendor. Connect with nature, soak up the tranquil and serene atmosphere of the gardens, and be inspired by the beauty and creativity of the floral designs, from May 31 to June 2, 2024.
Located in the heart of the Gâtinais region, Parc de Courances covers 75 hectares. The park was originally a Renaissance water garden, a style that succeeded the medieval walled garden and preceded the classical park. Over the centuries, the park was constantly modified, with each owner wishing to make his own mark.
The classical French park of the 17th century, the " French style" of the 19th and the Japanese style all coexist in the same place. The grounds are fed by 14 springs and punctuated by 17 water features. Since 1983, the Château de Courances has been listed as a Historic Monument, and its park invites you to relax in fine weather. It regularly hosts contemporary art exhibitions and open-air musical events, notably the "Les Musicales de Courances" festival.
Close to Paris, Courances is one of France's most beautiful gardens and home to a Louis XIII château, listed as a historic monument. Both the park and the château reflect the different eras and owners who have shaped them. A Renaissance water garden, a classical French park and a Japanese garden coexist harmoniously. The ensemble is fed by 14 springs and punctuated by 17 water features.
Take a guided tour of the château and discover its private heritage, rich in history and development since the 17th century.
