Contes aux jardins with Isabelle, storyteller
When we hear the word mill, our minds conjure up an image that often resembles a small stone building, with a large wheel in front, turning with the wind; Or perhaps a wacky, even slightly deranged Spaniard, mounted on a starved horse, who lunges forward to attack what he takes to be giants.
In Corbeil-Essonnes, there was no shortage of mills, but it was in the water that the millstone turned, taking advantage of the waterways that still run through the town.
Visit the garden to delve with us into the secrets of these ingenious machines that have become so picturesque.
