In the family of Japanese gardens in the Ile-de-France region, I call on the City of Colombes in Hauts-de-Seine (92). This pretty park was renovated in 2017 at the request of local residents, who wanted to have a square conducive to conviviality and encounters, and is the only park in the neighborhood.
It took 6 months of work to bring this Japanese-style garden to life. On site, the 3,800 m2 garden is harmonious and soothing. Among the star plants often found in Japanese gardens, such as azaleas, irises, bamboos, rhododendrons, magnolias and other characteristic pruned trees and pines, is a pretty pagoda in red and gold.
Japanese lanterns, a red bridge and a river complete the Japanese decor. A small play area based on Japanese garden codes is also on the menu for children in search of fun.
In short, if you're looking for a pretty Japanese garden on a human scale, with a relaxing and calming decor, here's a spot that should appeal to you. How about a break in the land of the rising sun?
