Like every summer from now on, the Shangri-La Paris opens the doors of its sublime interior garden, usually closed to the public, and installs the terrace of its restaurant La Bauhinia named Summer by La Bauhinia . A lush French garden where you'll love to relax and unwind on fine days.
In the kitchen, talented Chef Quentin Testart delights us with his seafood-flavored specialties. Summer by La Bauhinia features the seafood so dear to this chef, who is originally from Brittany. An opportunity to enjoy an idyllic interlude on a majestic terrace bordering a lush French garden, with a breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower.
In addition to the lovely terrace along the side of the building, we've also set up a pergola with plants and flowers, where we'll be able to enjoy some fine dining. It's enough to make you feel totally at home in a garden, disconnected from the city. To keep out of the rain or too much sun, an indoor restaurant in the former fiefdom of l'Abeille also lends a hand this summer.
Summer by La Bauhinia is a secret garden in western Paris, hidden from view and overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Here, you can enjoy the freshness of a dining room open to the greenery and the magic of tables set in a private garden.
Inspired by his memories of Brittany and his culinary experiences around the world, Quentin Testart offers a creative cuisine with a strong sense of identity, free from the classic codes of gastronomy. Borrowing from different continents the best cutting and cooking techniques, spices and condiments that sublimate seafood.
Ideal for sunny days and to spend a moment with fine dishes to share with friends or as a duo, the menu offers us pretty starters that take us between Brittany and Asia. We love the octopus carpaccio, spicy and lemony, the tuna tataki with ponzu sauce, which makes us see life in all its colors, and the crispy rice with tomato tartar.
Signature dishes include lean meat cooked at low temperature in a banana leaf, sea bass with a seasonal garnish, lobster ravioli, and pretty, spicy baby vegetables with aïoli sauce, ideal for vegetarians.
On the sweet side, Pastry Chef Maxence Barbot offers light, sweet and seasonal creations, blending the great classics. Let yourself be seduced by the soft, fresh Baba du partage with cream and kiwi. We also love the Strawberry Blossom and Rhubarb, which will give you an excellent moment of finesse and freshness.
This hidden terrace-restaurant, whose address is only passed on by insiders, is definitely worth a visit for its calm, luxury and voluptuousness. A summer must, just a stone's throw from the Trocadéro.
