We're off to discover Café Ginori, which has taken up temporary residence at theHôtel d'Évreux on Place Vendôme. Adjacent to the Hôtel du Ritz, you'll need to cross the courtyard and take the front door to climb to the second floor and discover the exceptional lounges of this unique venue, which opens its doors to us from December 16 to 23, 2024 and from January 4 to 11, 2025.
This ephemeral café, born of the collaboration between Ginori 1735, the prestigious Italian lifestyle brand, and Potel & Chabot, masters of French receptions and culinary arts, offers a moment of relaxation over a tea time or aperitivo, in an atmosphere where Italian refinement meets Parisian savoir-faire.
From the moment you arrive, you'll be captivated by the calm and elegance of the setting. The lounges of the Hôtel d'Évreux, adorned with carefully thought-out details, are the setting for this unique experience. Seated facing the large windows overlooking Place Vendôme, we enjoy a particularly pleasant view, especially when the Christmas decorations light up the place.
Tea time, priced at €85 per person, is conceived as a multi-stage gustatory journey. The service begins with a delicate welcome over a parmesan breadstick, followed by pecorino madeleines and a truffle panini, with extra fresh black truffle for connoisseurs.
Those with a sweet tooth won't be left out, with creations such as a hazelnut semi-freddo, a gourmet maritozzo and a panna cotta to share that's just to die for, declined according to taste with praline, pistachio or vanilla pear jelly (we couldn't choose, we tasted all 3). From December 16 to 23, you'll be served an elegant, crunchy tiramisu log, while from January 4 to 11, a slice of Potel & Chabot galette des rois will take over.
Each dish is carefully presented, with elegant shapes and colors from Ginori 1735's Oriente Italiano collection.
We let ourselves be lulled by the sound of the harp, feeling like privileged guests in this exceptional place with impeccable service. From time to time, between mouthfuls of food, a glance towards the windows reminds us of the magical view from the second floor, which offers some of the most beautiful Christmas scenery in Paris. The illuminations in the luxury boutiques, the large fir trees and the free carousel in the square are sure to enchant us.
In the evening, theaperitivo extends the experience in a more festive atmosphere. The lights of Place Vendôme are reflected in the lounges, providing a subdued atmosphere conducive to conversation. On the à la carte menu, revisited Italian classics, such as soft gnocchi or truffled panini, are accompanied by light cocktails. The highlight is the tiramisu-inspired Yule log, both gourmet and subtle.
This experience is for couples looking for a unique experience, for people who like to combine refinement and attentive service, all in a timeless setting. It may come at a price, but you'll have a great time.
The restaurant is distinguished by its attention to detail: the service is discreet and attentive, the plates impeccably set, and the setting, with its decorative touches drawn from the Ginori 1735 collections, completes a pleasing harmony. It's also possible to purchase unique items on site, such as plates and decorative objects, reflecting the company's savoir-faire. A Ginori 1735 pop-up store showcases this Florentine know-how. It also features an exclusive Galette des Rois boxed set. This collaboration embodies a fusion of French gastronomy and Italian craftsmanship.
Potel et Chabot's iconic galette des rois is reinvented with the elegant creations of Ginori 1735. Discover a limited-edition box, including a Signature galette for 6 to 8 people, accompanied by a matching dish and bean in Italian porcelain, specially designed by Ginori 1735 for 160€. Only 1000 boxes available!
If the idea of a moment out of time in the heart of Paris appeals to you, this ephemeral winter café is well worth a visit, if only to enjoy a moment of tranquility in an exceptional location. Don't forget to make a reservation to enjoy this experience in the best possible conditions.
