With the arrival of beautiful days, the desire to escape is at its maximum! Trips, week-ends or walks, motivation is not lacking, but it is not necessarily the case of savings... So to get away from it all without leaving the Ile-de-France, head for the charming town of Jouy-en-Josas, just a few kilometers from Versailles.
Within reach of your Navigo pass, the country walk starts at the Jouy-en-Josas station (RER C). A tip: come in the morning to enjoy the day! After shopping in the city center and discovering theAuberge de l'écu de France, which has seen Victor Hugo, head for the trailhead.
At the roundabout, 100m from the station, go up the rue de la Libération and 200m later turn left to take the Chemin du Pré Bourgeois.
That's it, you're on your way! The small path will first take you along the Thales site on the left and the Bièvre river on the right, before leading you to a vast green meadow.
A few steps later you will arrive at the Musée de la Toile de Jouy, dedicated to the emblematic printed fabric of the 17th century and the town of Jouy-en-Josas. Stop there to discover the richness of this unique museum, nestled in the Château de l'Églantine.
Then go up the road lined with some typical pavilions of the region, until you reach the Petit Jouy - Les Loges train station. Once there, walk along the Bièvre River to the Haras de Vauptain where you will come face to face with the horses. As you join the hiking trail after the Haras, you will already see the arches of the Aqueduc de Buc in the distance.
Along the walk through the grove, enjoy a parade of bucolic landscapes and green pastures dotted with beautiful stallions. A change of scenery guaranteed!
At the highest point of the path, the curves of theAqueduc de Buc, 21 meters high, finally appear! This construction was once used to carry water to supply the fountains and spouts of the park of the Château de Versailles.
Back in Jouy-en-Josas, the most motivated will be able to go to the Viltain Farm to participate in the day's picking and discover the animals.
