The floating cottages on the La Galiotte pond in Yvelines, a real postcard landscape

The park's history is as astonishing as its landscape. The site emerged from an old quarry, and has been transformed into a natural sanctuary where flora and fauna thrive in harmony. Two "artificial" ponds, created by the partial filling in of former quarries, emerge from this landscape: l'étang de la Vieille Ferme and l'étang de La Galiotte.

Etang de La Galiotte, a 22-hectare lake, takes its name from an ancient boat that once plied the area. Today, it is home to some forty floating cottages, offering picturesque views of stunning beauty.

Once modest fishermen's cottages, they have gradually been transformed into charming floating homes and relocated from the south to the north shore due to the quality of the soil. In this protected setting, the harmony between nature and architecture is captivating.

To experience this unique adventure, you don't need a passport, just a Navigo pass! Just a 20-minute walk from Poissy station, the park is easily accessible.

Once you've arrived, all you have to do is stroll along the green path that runs alongside the banks of the Seine, as close as possible to the floating cabanons.
