Fête des Jardins 2023 at the Villemin garden: Concert-promenade, tours, workshops and games

In the heart of Paris's 10th arrondissement lies a verdant haven of peace: Jardin Villemin. Nestled between the Gare de l'Est railway station and the Canal Saint-Martin, this pretty garden offers a welcome escape for locals craving greenery and tourists in search of tranquility.

The history of the Villemin garden dates back to the 19th century. Created in 1870 on the outskirts of the former Villemin military hospital, it is now a popular place for Parisians to relax, with its shady paths and inviting strolls.

For the Fête des Jardins 2023, the Villemin garden will be opening its doors to adults and children on September 23 and 24, 2023, with a fun-filled program celebrating biodiversity, flora and fauna through a host of free events - workshops, tours, games and even concert walks!

The Fête des Jardins 2023 program at the Villemin garden:

• Workshops and events
  - Potting with pots made on site from recycled materials supplied by participants: newspaper, yoghurt pots...
  - Creation of miniature gardens, containers to be supplied by participants (large bowl or small vase). Limited to 4 participants per 20-30 minute session. Schedules and booking on site
  - Information on the missions and recruitment of reception and surveillance officers and municipal police officers.

• Guided tours
  - A tour of biodiversity preservation initiatives (ponds, wetlands, green walls, fallow land and meadows...). At 4pm
  - Guided tour of floral decorations (design and maintenance). At 3pm and 5pm

• Games
  - Take a quiz as you stroll through the garden to find different trees
  - "Sensation boxes" for plants to the touch

• Concert-promenade by Chez Nous productions.
  Sunday from 4pm to 5pm under the bandstand
