For the 27th edition of the Fête des Jardins 2023, taking place from September 20 to 24, the Parc de Belleville is hosting the Village de la Fête, with a host of events for the whole family.
Calling all nature lovers! La Fête des Jardins returns for its 27th edition from September 20 to 24, throughout the capital. A new edition celebrated in the parks and gardens of Paris, with free events for the whole family. It's an opportunity for curious young and old alike to discover the capital's green treasures, and to meet those involved in environmental preservation.
In the 20th arrondissement, parks and gardens will be in the spotlight with a program full of surprises! Starting with Parc de Belleville, this year's venue for the Fête des Jardins 2023 Village. The program features a widevariety of activities for the whole family!
Take a new look at the park, learn how to garden and green public spaces, how to care for and prevent plant diseases; test and broaden your knowledge of plants; discover all the City of Paris ' initiatives in favor of biodiversity and get your kids climbing the park's trees!

- Departure point for guided tours of the park: Situated on one of the capital's highest points, this contemporary garden, created on a hillside on the site of former quarries, features a skilful blend of wild and cultivated plants. The seasonal renewal of blooms provides a diverse and abundant source of food for foraging insects. The rich palette of trees - hops, water fir, incense cedar... - provides shelter and cover for numerous birds, which are also attracted in autumn by the grapes of the vineyard planted in memory of the area's wine-growing past. Saturday and Sunday, 2pm to 5pm, 45-minute guided tours of Parc de Belleville.

- Launch of the consultation on the revision of the Biodiversity Plan: an opportunity to discuss the revision of the Biodiversity Plan 2018-2024, the assessment of the actions carried out by the City over the last six years to protect, develop and promote biodiversity, and to announce the launch of the public consultation which, from September to December 2023, will give Parisians the opportunity to determine the future major orientations of the Biodiversity Plan 2024-2030.

Scent workshop: recognizing plants by smell
- Soil and plant knowledge" stand
- Soil and plant pentathlon: ask for your form and take part in each activity. At the end of the course, once you've passed all the tests, you'll win a plant.
- 1 "Pollens and trees": find the right plant-pollen pairs using laminated photos, alternating with a tree animation (find the right tree leaf-name pairs, based on leaves collected by the team near the site on the day). A QR code will need to be flashed to go to the "Guide des Essences" website: bring your smartphone for this activity.
- 2 "Beneficial organisms": use laminated photos to match the right pest and beneficial organism pairs.
- 3 "Plant health": match pest-symptom pairs on plants using laminated photos.
- 4 "In vitro culture": put the stages of cultivation of the Olympic Dahlia in the right order at the Parc Floral de Paris, using culture media in the colors of the Olympic Games!
- 5. " Soil laboratory": the public, apprentice laboratory technicians, test soil pH and/or texture.
- Plant clinic: Bring your plant or photos of diseased plants - we'll identify problems and give you advice. Saturday only.
- Building greening" stand
- Games - "L'escalade du végétal": plant memory, puzzle of a rooftop planting complex to put together, "Trouve mon accroche" (wooden game where the player has to link the climbing plant to its hook), garden fresco to color... Each animation completed entitles you to a punch on an activity sheet; at the end of the course, once you've passed all the tests, you'll win a plant.

Presence of the Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux (League for the Protection of Birds), Saturday only: With over 66,000 members, 8,000 active volunteers, 650 salaried employees nationwide and a network of local associations active in 80 départements, the Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux (LPO) is today France's leading nature protection association. The LPO's aim is to take action for birds, wildlife, nature and mankind, and to combat the decline in biodiversity through knowledge, protection, education and mobilization. It is chaired by Allain Bougrain Dubourg and is the official partner in France of the Birdlife International network.

- Presence of the Société Nationale d'Horticulture de France: the SNHF is an association founded in 1827, bringing together amateur gardeners, local associations, professionals, horticultural teaching establishments and local authorities. It runs the jardiner-autrement.fr platform, the leading general public site to help amateur gardeners reduce their use of pesticides in the garden.

- Paris prend l'air" workshop, to learn about and measure air quality, with Les Petits Débrouillards.
- Presence of GRAINE Île-de-France: an association at the head of a network of 114 structures and individuals working in environmental education. It fosters exchanges and meetings between players in the field, informs and guides the public, coordinates structuring territorial projects with the support of its members, and runs a regional training program.
- Presentation of the educational manual entitled "Jardiner au naturel avec les enfants", aimed at parents and education professionals. A veritable "toolbox" for discovering the garden, this book is based on educational activities for children of all ages. Saturday only
- Presence of the CPN Val de Seine association - Nature games: no need to look far, a few branches, vines and other natural elements can be all you need to play. - As part of the "Semeurs de Biodiversité, une prairie pour les papillons & Cie" (Sowers of Biodiversity, a meadow for butterflies & Co.) initiative, a bag of flowering meadow seeds will be donated, along with an explanatory booklet and a game for children.

A festive, cultural and slightly sporty walk, about 6.5 km long, to discover 3 parks: Belleville, Buttes Chaumont, and Butte du Chapeau Rouge, all three of which are on hilltops, not forgetting the little last one, Butte Bergeyre, which has no park but a vineyard!
