The park is named in tribute to the American singer Aretha Franklin, known for her music as well as her commitment to civil rights in the United States. She is the author of Think and Respect, worldwide hits that have marked many generations.
With a surface area of 30,000 m ², the park is destined to expand in the future, with further development work scheduled until 2028, the project's final delivery date. Designed to be a reservoir of biodiversity within a limited space, the park features numerous pines, maples, spruces... designed to bring greenery to the neighborhood.
And that's not all: the site also features a pond with an ecological pool, wetlands and meadows... To encourage animal and plant biodiversity. For children and teenagers, there's a specially-designedplayground , basketball court, ping-pong tables, zip-line... all freely accessible all day long. On sunny days, a lovely lawn awaits visitors for an open-air picnic or a spot of reading in the sun.
The park is open every day, all year round, 24 hours a day. To get there, you can take public transport: metro line 3 (Porte de Bagnolet stop towards Gallieni) or tramway line T3b (Mairie de Mirbel stop towards Porte Dauphine).
