For over twenty years now, floating markets from the South-West have been landing on the Quais de Montebello and Quais de la Tournelle, opposite Notre-Dame de Paris, for a convivial and festive occasion. However for this year 2024, this unusual rendezvous will not take place due to the organization of the Paralympic Games.
For those unfamiliar with this gourmet event, here's what you need to know: For three days, producers of foies gras, magrets, fruits, chasselas, sun-drenched vegetables, wines and other delicacies will be on hand on the quays of the Seine to let you sample their local specialties. In all, over forty producers invite you to sample their delicious local produce. And don't forget to do a little shopping at home, to extend your culinary pleasure!
A free fruit distribution (over 6 tons) is organized every day, while theEspace du Goût and its restaurant, Maison Micouleau, on the Quai de la Tournelle , prepare typical dishes from the South-West.
The Marchés Flottants du Sud-Ouest are also renowned for the conviviality and festive spirit of the South-West : dance to the rhythm of the bandas and mini-concerts of jazz and Latin music, and toast the evening with aperitifs on Friday and Saturday evenings. Stay tuned for future editions!
