Calling all garden lovers, lovers of beautiful green spaces and secret corners of greenery: the Rendez-vous aux Jardins are back for a 2024 edition, on June 1 and 2, with dozens of gardens opening in Paris and the Île-de-France region (and indeed, all over France). The Rendez-vous aux Jardins is the ideal opportunity to immerse yourself in the most beautiful gardens in the country: private or public, secret or gigantic, French or English...
You'll be able to explore spaces with incredible landscapes, marvel at spectacular green spaces or stroll along flower-filled alleys (and just as well, since we're in the middle of spring!). The program includes fun activities, creative workshops, concerts, installations and performances for all ages: all you have to do is choose which gardens you'd like to visit!
The Musée départemental Albert-Kahn is a place in the Hauts-de-Seine department that blends history and cultures from around the world. It was the home of Albert Kahn, an explorer and philanthropist who devoted his life to understanding peoples. The place is set in a magnificent garden in Boulogne-Billancourt, which transports you to the other side of the globe with its trees from Asia, all over Europe...
Don't miss the exceptional collections of photographs, films and archival documents that trace the world's different cultures and developments. Whether you're passionate about photography, history or simply curious to broaden your horizons, the Musée Albert-Kahn offers you an extraordinary journey through time and cultures. Why not come along for the Rendez-vous aux Jardins?
In the museum's auditorium, sit back and relax to the sounds of the garden.
Birdsong, the sound of waterfalls and whispered testimonials from the gardener allow you to discover Albert Kahn's landscape garden in a different way.
As a family, with friends or on your own, take part in an investigation to help museum staff track down the autochrome thief! Inspired by Cluedo ©, participants must interrogate Albert Kahn's guests and find clues to solve this dreadful crime.
Discover the temporary exhibition, "Natures Vivantes, images et imaginaires des jardins d'Albert Kahn", which highlights Albert Kahn's passion for the plant world. During this visit, explore the convergence of science, cinema, color and poetry in a context imbued with Japanese inspiration, highlighting horticulture and a passion for gardening.
To combine sports activities with the discovery of cultural sites, the public is invited to take part in a walking tour of five sites in the Vallée de la Culture. Accompanied by a sports educator, the route starts at the Tour aux Figures and Île saint-Germain, with an introduction to Nordic walking, before reaching Sèvres - manufacture and museum, where they will discover the Galerie des Savoir-Faire. After a break for a picnic, participants discover the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, then the Musée Départemental Albert-Kahn and its garden, before finishing the hike with a visit to the GoodPlanet Foundation.
The Musée Départemental welcomes students from Boulogne-Billancourt's Conservatoire à rayonnement régional for a series of performances focusing on the 5 senses.
Wind octet:
- One of 3 wind octets by Josef Myslivecek
- Dvorak's Serenade for winds op.44 - 28'
Contemporary dance:
- Solo and duo
- Fandango, to music by Boccherini (quintet no. 6 in G major "Grave assai" performed by the Casals Quartet)
Brass quintet:
- Carnaval des animaux, Camille de Saint-Saëns
The olfactory tour adds another sense to the discovery of the exhibition. In addition to sight and hearing, the sense of smell is stimulated by the creation of an odor and fragrance trail. For example, by evoking the lost garden of Cap Martin, the scent of roses and chrysanthemums. This synesthesia allows visitors to immerse themselves sensitively in the images.
