What if we took advantage of the night to stroll around the capital's most iconic landmarks? Seeing the Eiffel Tower light up at night, crossing illuminated bridges, strolling along the Champs-Elysées at night - these are magical scenes that may seem to date from another lifetime to some. But it's time to remember why Paris is nicknamed the City of Light!
We recommend routes worthy of the finest films. For example, you can start your nocturnal journey from the most beautiful avenue in the world. Admiring the beautiful view of theArc de Triomphe, you can then pass between the Petit and Grand Palais to cross the Pont Alexandre III. Make sure you get there after sunset, at exactly one o'clock: the Eiffel Tower will light up before your very eyes. As a reminder, it shines for 5 minutes at the start of every hour at dusk.
Another exciting journey awaits you on theOpéra side. First stop: Boulevard Haussmann, the hot spot for department stores. From here, walk alongside theOpéra Garnier and admire this magnificent monument by the light of the street lamps. You can then walk downAvenue de l'Opéra, turning regularly to admire the view. You'll then pass a number of iconic addresses, such as the Café de la Paix, before reaching the magnificent Place Vendôme. From here, we walk along Rue Rivoli and the Tuileries Gardens to end on Place de la Concorde, which is even more beautiful at night!
Another charming evening stroll, this time in Montmartre. From Abbesses station, you can take the funicular to the foot of the Sacré Coeur. From here, you can marvel at the magnificent view over the capital. Then let the charm of Montmartre work its magic: cross the beautiful Place du Tertre, walk along the vineyards to rediscover the Maison Rose, salute the Passe-Muraille and the bust of Dalida. There's always a scene, a detail or a spot to catch your eye. In Montmartre, there's a surprise around every corner!
And to rediscover the historic heart of the capital by night, head first for the Louvre Museum and its night-lit pyramid. From there, cross the Seine to theÎle de la Cité. Stop off at the statue of Henri IV for a magnificent view of the capital and its river. You'll then pass through the Place Dauphine and the Sainte-Chapelle to reach the forecourt of Notre-Dame. From here, you can admire the magnificent cathedral, before being guided to theÎle Saint-Louis and its authentic charm, giving you the impression of stepping back in time! Finally, we cross the Seine again to reach the Hôtel de Ville square and its illuminated façade.
