In the Seine-et-Marne département, just an hour's drive from the center of Paris or an hour's ride on the Transilien (line P, terminus Provins, from Gare de l'Est) brings you to the Provinois, a little-known region rich in cultural and sporting discoveries...
From the Provinois, we know Provins, which gives its name to the surrounding area. A fortified medieval town in excellent condition, this is the place to spend an afternoon, a day or even a weekend immersed in French medieval traditions.
Relatively well served by the Transilien line P (from Paris Gare de l'Est), the Provinois region is also home to many other wonderful discoveries. Among the nuggets to be found in this region of Seine-et-Marne is the Longueville railroad museum, with its life-size locomotives and historic carriages in a rotunda unique in the Paris region. Families will love the Jumping Forest tree-climbing park and the local educational farms . If you're a hiking enthusiast, good news! The region also boasts some very fine walks.
Beautiful churches, medieval treasures and bucolic walks: let's go for a day or a weekend in the Provinois!
