More than just a short-lived barge, La Bougeotte is a floating wine bar moored in the Bassin de la Villette. On the colorful deck, you can taste a host of independent wines(120 references!) selected from the French canals by Charles Delalande, the captain and wine merchant. A godsend for Parisians with a taste for small producers, with the option of a guinguette atmosphere and a sunset on the water!
The idea is based on a simple observation. "Waterways arethe source of valleys and hillsides, and a large majority of vineyards are crossed by waterways. It istherefore possible to load a barge with wines and other varied local products as close as possible to the producers, and then offer them on a direct, itinerant basis", explains the creator.
Like Christmas before its time, Charles hides in his floating hood local French products to nibble on with a glass of (super good) wine in hand, from the Centre Loire, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Jura and Champagne regions. You'll enjoy truffled ham/comté/onion-confit croques; ravioles au gratin with chorizo; radish-citrus carpaccio; cheese and charcuterie boards; and for seafood lovers , shrimp ceviche; octopus salad; or Norman oysters and whelks delivered by a Normandy oyster farmer.
Afestive guinguette, yes, with pretty, colorful lanterns, but also and above all committed, La Bougeotte makes no secret of its desire to create social links and promote eco-responsible transport and trade. In short, a barge that has everything to please Parisians.
