The Harmonie MutuelleOpen Swim Stars offers all brave swimmers who wish to do so the chance to swim across Paris, and above all the Bassin de la Villette and the Canal de l'Ourcq, in seven open-water events, on June 15 and 16, 2024. Professionals and amateurs will be able to compete in the 500m, 1km, 2km normal and finned, 5km (idem), 10km, combined or 4×500m relay, in a public open water swimming circuit.
This open-water Open, designed to revive the"La Traversée de Paris à la nage" event, is an event created by former swimming champions who want to share their passion and promote open-water swimming in cities. It's a way of introducing participants to a sport that's good for your health, and raising their awareness of the environmental issues surrounding water.
Nearly 1,000 swimmers are expected to take part in this year's event, which supports an association's project for the environment and the protection of rivers, seas and oceans. And don't worry, you don't have to be a professional swimmer to take part - anyone can get in the water!
