Sake, made from rice, water, yeast and koji, is a fermented beverage produced in an extremely refined, artisanal way that reflects the richness of Japanese culinary tradition. The pairing of sake and seafood allows you to discoverumami, the fifth flavor, very present in Japanese cuisine.
Known for its complexity and diversity, sake comes in many varieties, each influenced by production methods, the type of rice used, and the climate of the production region. Thanks to its rich umami content, sake enhances the flavor of fish and seafood.
During Sake Weeks, guests will have the opportunity to discover how this beverage harmonizes with the refined dishes proposed by chefs and sommeliers.
Participating restaurants include renowned establishments such as the discreetly elegant La Condesa Paris, Cravan, which offers a unique experience in an innovative setting, Villa 9 Trois (Montreuil), whose promising young chef, Camille Saint-M'Leux, offers creative cuisine, and ERH, the pioneering food and sake pairing establishment.
Other establishments such as Divellec and Helen, Michelin-starred and specializing in seafood, are also taking part in this culinary event.
Restaurants such as Agapé, Arbore & Sens, Belle Maison, La Condesa Paris and Tomy & Co are taking part in the Semaines du Saké challenge for the first time.
Les Semaines du Saké is not only a celebration of gastronomy, but also an invitation to explore new taste experiences. The event highlights the importance of sake in contemporary cuisine and its potential to create innovative alcoholic food-drink pairings.
Guests will be able to sample dishes featuring seafood from the menus of participating establishments, some of whose head sommeliers are sake connoisseurs, ranging from the creations of L'Écrin, to the finesse of La Dame de Pic, to the pared-down dishes of Sur Mesure. Each restaurant will offer a unique experience, reflecting the chef's and sommelier's vision of the perfect match between sake and their culinary creations.
This event is the perfect opportunity for gourmets and the curious to immerse themselves in a culinary journey, discovering the subtlety and richness of sake in perfect symbiosis with haute cuisine. The Sake Weeks 2024 promise unforgettable moments for all participants, a celebration of the culinary art.
