C'est la vie, the barge moored in Asnières, for a romantic stay on the water

Quai Aulanier, in the town of Asnières-sur-Seine, is home to C'est la vie, a bucolic barge where you can spend a night or more, lulled by the sound of the water.

There's no shortage of unusual accommodation in the Paris region, and the options for adventure are numerous, whether you prefer campsites in the middle of nowhere, trailers, teepees or other accommodations that seem to be set at the end of the world. InAsnières-sur-Seine, Emma Butez invites you to spend a night aboard her barge C'est la vie, for a unique stay on the water.

"Originally, I was looking to invest in Paris, and this barge was all I had in my price range. When I visited it, I fell in love with it, but I hesitated to live there, as it was located quite far from my work... So I decided to turn it into an unusual home," says Emma. Here, people love being on the water, thefeeling of being alone in the world on this extraordinary boat, and the atmosphere of the port, "a bit like a little village". Moored in Port Van Gogh, on the border of Gennevilliers and Asnières, the barge is one of those intimate accommodations where lovers can get together in summer or winter. "When I bought the barge, it was called Epicure", explains Emma, who eventually opted for C'est la vie, "a very romantic, very French expression". On board, a single room sleeps two, with a lounge area, a terrace (the large deck) perfect for sunny days, and a wood-burning stove for snuggling up by the fire in winter.

To spend a night aboard this romantic barge, you'll need to pay from €250 upwards, bearing in mind that breakfast is available at an additional cost, as is dinner (in the form of a buffet dinner delivered to the barge). For some time now, Emma has also been offering solo stays for women, so that they can come and completely disconnect from their daily lives on the barge. The program includes a massage, coaching, yoga session or photo shoot (with a choice of several activities) to help you reconnect with yourself. For these wellness stays, you can expect to pay from €400 to spend the night on the barge, with one activity included.
