It is not easy to find Marclee. Nestled in a small street in Paris 9th arrondissement, the Asian-inspired restaurant opened in 2015. The place plays the intimate atmosphere card with about twenty seats. The asset? A few seats set just in front of the open-plan kitchen. Just perfect to admire the chef at work! And speaking of the chef, he is… Venezuelan! It can be surprising, but trust us, Damian Dania (and Carlos Lopez) knows his share in terms of Asian dishes.
The place is perfect for all Asian fusion food fans. By the way, the restaurant has just renewed its menu and its vegan at 50%!
What can you eat? Well, royal bowl, gyozas, as well as inari, and even torrija.
First, enjoy some rainbow ceviche. This marinade based on lychee and Mexican lime is served with fried sweet potatoes and incredibly flavorful! We ask for more!
Next up? The royal bowl based on organic Japanese rice, raw salmon, radish, avocado mousse. Once again, it is absolutely delightful.
And if you love meat, be rest assured, there is one meat dish left on the menu: the marclee tiger you can order as the bowl of the tiger.
If you love discovering new things and you do not fear getting your fingers dirty, go for the Gyoza Tatin, the dessert to enjoy in 5 pieces. It is based on delicious dumplings stuffed with apple and cinnamon, salted butter caramel and some whipped cream with white sesame on the side. So good!
If you want, you can continue your night by sipping some beverage available on the menu, since Marclee is a bar too. On the menu? Several sakes, sparkling sake, as well as cocktails based on wine, or one vegan cocktail, perfect if you do not drink alcohol. Let’s go then, shall we?
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
