Chinese restaurants in Paris are easy to find, but what about gourmet Chinese restaurants? For more than 10 years, Madame Ly has been introducing Parisians to Chinese culture in her restaurants, whose flagship restaurant is located on Avenue Niel (16th).
Every evening, the charming Madame Ly and her team welcome us in a muffled atmosphere, with soft music and subdued lighting, to offer us the best of Asian cuisine, inherited from four generations of gourmets.
Large round tables with revolving trays for a Chinese-style service rub shoulders with hidden tables for more intimate meals. Here, the whole of Paris comes to learn about Asian table arts, spices and condiments so characteristic of tasty dishes.
On the menu, the greatest Chinese, Hong Kong and Thai specialties, presented in a large menu; with 50 appetizers, 80 main courses but only 3 desserts, usually we would tell you to avoid, but at Chez Ly, everything is good!
For starters, dim sum (12,5€) compete with chicken salads (13€), then, the cuisine takes us from Beijing to Bangkok, passing by Hong Kong, with Szechuan style chicken at 20€, Cantonese style Peking duck at 24€ and Thai style grilled prawns at 28€.
Madame Ly handles spices and condiments like no one else, and hypnotizes us with her high quality dishes: it's simple, just turn your head to the four corners of the room to be tempted. And Madame Ly comes to advise us according to our desires of the moment. Each guest is advised, we take great pleasure in discovering the dishes.
We advise you to come with several people and share your dishes, in the pure Asian tradition: the large round tables with a revolving tray delight groups of ten people, and the dishes are served in large quantities and in a presentation dish, which allows you to easily pick from the right and left.
