Romain Vidal, owner of Le Sully, is quick to respond to the question " How long have you been here? Yes, the history of this Parisian brasserie is above all a family one.
Created in 1917 by Emile, Le Sully started out as a simple bar-tabac called"Le Célestin". It was renamed Le Sully in the 1920s, when son-in-law Pierre took over. He didn't hesitate to enlarge the space by buying out the neighboring stores and taking the shape we know today. He also took advantage of the opportunity to launch the restaurant's daily specials and omelettes.
The brasserie took on a new look in the 1990s, with the arrival of the 3rd generation, who focused on period decor and 1920s style.
Today, Le Sully is already in its fourth generation! Romain Vidal has taken up the torch and is keen to further develop the establishment. In 2013, the brasserie was awarded the title ofMaître-Restaurateur, emphasizing quality and homemade products.
As for the dishes, traditional cuisine remains the order of the day, with several suggestions that will delight carnivores, such as the 250g Charolais entrecôte, the unmissable 200g Andouillette 5A, the 180gonglet de Veau échalote confite and the Charolais beef tartare.
However,Romain tells us that the menu is set to evolve, and should soon offer a number of vegetarian and vegan dishes.
To start the tasting, we turn to the daily suggestion menu. This lunchtime, the menu features a delicious Gaspacho Maison. Refreshing and ideal for the summer season ahead.
Next up is a tasty Pavé de Colin Froid, accompanied by a julienne of pan-fried vegetables. The whole dish is served withhomemade aioli.
My acolyte turns to theBeet Carpacciowith poached egg. Gourmet and aesthetic, this dish is as beautiful to admire as it is good to eat.
Finally, on the dessert side, the classics take pride of place, with a chocolate mousse made with organic eggs that's simply to die for, a crème brûlée with perfectly cooked Bourbon vanilla bean that's both crunchy on top and melt-in-the-mouth on the inside, and a tiramisu, a vanilla flan...

For those in a hurry, Le Sully also offers classic Croque Monsieur, Quiches du Jour, Caesar and goat's cheese salads.
These classic recipes are homemade and perfectly prepared, and are always a delight to the taste buds!
The best part? A menu for less than €10, served directly at the counter.
And for fans of the round ball, the Sully will be showing the French national team matches on the big screen during the 2018 World Cup.
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
