If the idea of a rare rib steak makes you salivate, then the opening of a grill restaurant on boulevard du Montparnasse should delight you. Opened on the site of a former Hippopotamus, this brand-new restaurant called Bleu has chosen to give pride of place to meat, just like its predecessor.
At Bleu, meat is sourced in France and enjoyed in a setting reminiscent of the brasseries that made the Boulevard du Montparnasse such a success between the wars. Charolais sirloin steak, Limousin veal chop, Pyrenean rack of lamb, Auvergne pork chop, Morteau sausage... And for those who prefer grilled fish, lobster and mackerel from Brittany are also on the menu.
But what would good meat be without a homemade sauce and a choice accompaniment? Bleu has thought of everything: the sauces are made on site, after hours of reduction. And when it comes to side dishes, gourmets can choose from French peas, Waldorf salad, Provençal tomatoes, steamed beans and, for a sweet finish to the meal, chef's desserts.
Whether indoors or out on the terrace, Bleu 's meats and fish are perfectly grilled. A delight for carnivores.
