Are you looking for a Sardinian restaurant in Paris? La Table du Huit, restaurant of the discreet Maison des Champs-Elysées (Paris 8th arrondissement), makes you travel to Italy in 10 minutes tops! The restaurant has just changed chefs (and menu) and is now switching from a gastronomic French cuisine to a Sardinian cuisine that gives pride of place to vegetables, pastas and olive oil.
This breath of freshness, we owe it to Sardinian chef Nicola Pisu already managing a restaurant in Paris 1st arrondissement. A generous, authentic and typical restaurant, here’s what the restaurant now offers and it’s a big yes for us.
For La Table du Huit, the chef came up with fresh and gourmet dishes reminding his homeland, Sardinia, dishes that take us straight to the sun, far from the Parisian craziness.
Fresh tuna tartare, ricotta and zucchini flower fritters, cured charcuteries board, 6 tantalizing starters make us want to attack the Sardinian meal right now! For us it’s going to be the beautiful charcuterie board with sheep’s cheese and marinated vegetables, as well as the delicious zucchini flower fritters.
Then, here comes the main course. Grilled squid gremolada and vegetables with Gonnosfanadiga oil and Linguine with fresh tuna, olives, tomatoes and capers eye at us. Portions are more than correct and flavors are here. It’s so delightful to enjoy fresh homemade pastas, just cooked in their tomato sauce, with capers and tuna…
If there’s till room left for a dessert, please try the homemade “feuilleté” with peach and amaretti (and if you don’t have room left), try the vanilla panna-cotta with red berries!
Verdict? It’s a success for Nicola Pisu who brings a touch of simplicity in a rather stiff restaurant! With his menu, Nicola Pisu brings the best of his restaurant to La Table du Huit for a beautiful discovery that makes us want to travel.
Nota bene: on sunny days, you can even have lunch al fresco on the very beautiful terrace of La Maison des Centraliens, a beautiful gourmet break in the heart of Paris.
We don’t know about you, but we would gladly stay in Sardinia (especially when it’s a stone’s throw from the Grand Palais!).
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
