Golpagas, paneer, dal and even kulfi: we’re for sure in an Indian restaurant. But careful, not any kind of Indian restaurant! MG Road is part of these very tasty Parisian tables providing an incredible immersion in India with unique flavors your taste buds will remember for a very, very long time.
Created by Stéphanie de Saint Simon, MG Road bets on modern and revisited food with strong taste and multicolored plates perfectly plated.
In addition to this delicious food brilliantly cooked by a chef coming straight from London, MG Road unveils a polished décor inspired by “Irani” cafés. In the 19th century, these popular bistros – open and managed by Persian migrants – made Bombay inhabitants very happy.
At MG Road, the trick works wonder between the turned wood chairs coming from Bombay, the hanging lights or the few typical paintings.
And if you love one of the elements of the décor, you can visit Ouma Productions website. Founded by Stéphanie de Saint Simon in 2005, this website is specialized in Indian style furniture and homeware.
But let’s return to MG Road’s menu, shall we. Renewed every three months or so, we have several unmissable dishes of the Indian cuisine but especially revisited.
To start with, five starters are available on the menu including the irresistible Golpagas. Major dish of the Indian street food, it’s made of puff wheat shell served here with spicy potatoes, raita, mint and cilantro chutney.
As for us, we went for the delicious Crispy Kale and Sweet Potato Chaat based on masala mashed sweet potatoes, kale chips, yoghurt, mint and tamarind chutney, pomegranate and watercress.

We also fell for one of the novelties on the menu: the Chicken Tikka Dumplings Cherry Tomatoes (basically free range chicken dumplings and cherry tomato sauce, garlic and ginger, radicchio and cress). Served warm, these dumplings are absolutely flavorful!

Next, we have the Chettinad Chicken Curry Beans coco stew: free range chicken stew with coconut, Chettinad style, with crunchy French beans and fennels.

As a side, we go for the irresistible and delicious Dal Makhani (black lentils, Punjab style).
As for the rest, MG Road serves the famous grilled paneer with tomatoes and cream, ginger, cilantro and Pulao rice, as well as Tandoori Black Pepper Fish and Saag (tandoor-cooked pollock fillet with spinach, ginger, mini corn, beetroot raita).
Let’s not forget about the incredible naans, including the one stuffed with paneer, sweet onions, cilantro and chili, or the one with mushrooms and black truffle oil.
That night, we went for the naan of the day with cilantro and sesame seeds. To die for!
Last but not least, to end on a sweet note, we couldn’t recommend more the Mango Golpagas, a sweet version of these famous shells filled with some smooth and delicious light fresh mango cream.
Or you can have the unmissable pistachio, dulce de leche and berries Kulfi.

As a bonus? The whole range of vegetarian dishes available also in a vegan version by request.
As for drinks, once again MG Road marks some points with two cocktails including the delicious “Bombay Drive” (Nimbu pani mojito & Old Monk), as well as beers such as the Cobra without forgetting several vintages giving pride of place to the several French vineyards.
Whether you’re used to Indian gastronomy or still discovering it, MG Road will know how to perfectly delight your taste buds with these oh-so unique flavors! Know that MG Road also has a younger sibling, Desi Road nestled in Paris 6th arrondissement.
