At the helm of the kitchens is Chef Nawaz Noman, who worked with Christian Le Squer and Yannick Alleno at the Pavillon Ledoyen. After a stint in London where he trained with chef Yogesh Datta, he joined the kitchens of the Mayfair Garden in Paris where he developed his travel inspirations.
Beautiful tables, a sober and elegant decoration, here we are in a most charming setting to make our taste buds travel. We start with a Lassi with saffron and cardamon to awaken our senses gently.
As a starter, we let ourselves be tempted by the Samossa chaat with vegetables. A vegetarian starter served with chopped onions, chickpeas, pomegranate and homemade chutney. A nice mix that combines crispness, melting and freshness.
My sidekick tasted the Paneer cheese tikka, an Indian cheese marinated in spices and seared with tandoori, accompanied by a gourmet onion fritter and a tangy and spicy condiment.
Then, let's go to the main course. We melt for the Lamb Nihari, a traditional festive dish of ultra-melting lamb, which can be gobbled up. Accompanied by rice and the excellent nan cheese and garlic, it is a treat.
Opposite, my partner is seduced by the Dum Biryani with chicken marinated in aniseed and served with saffron/curry rice.Under its amazing flaky crust and accompanied by a delicious curry sauce, the dish is a sensation at the table.
In short, if you like flavors and spices, this is a nice Indian restaurant to discover.
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
