OMURICE has moved to 10 Rue de Port-Mahon Paris 2nd arrondissement
Are you familiar with omurice? A dish from Japanese yōshoku cuisine born of the importation and adaptation of Western recipes after the abrogation of sakoku in the mid-19th century, omurice is an omelette containing rice sautéed with chicken and vegetables accompanied by a sauce. Literally meaning 'Omu = omelette/rice = rice', omurice is a very popular dish in Japan, which was later exported to Korea and Taiwan during the Japanese occupation... and now to France!
At La Loge Thélème, its adjoining bistro/comptoir, La Scène Thélème is unveiling a brand-new omurice menu, available to take away! Conceived by La Scène Thélème's Michelin-starred chef, Yoshitaka Takayanagi, and his partner Giovanni Iabichino, this all-new menu is ready to be savored!
Take the plunge and discover this quenelle of sautéed rice with chicken or beef and vegetables - or just vegetables for the vege version - onto which a rolled omelette with a runny heart is placed. By cutting theomelette lengthwise, it wraps around the rice, before being generously covered with sauce. A guaranteed change of scenery!
Note that the Loge Thélème also offers other Japanese specialties, such as Japanese beef and vegetable stew, and Japanese chicken and vegetable curry, to be accompanied by a lemonade or Japanese beer for refreshment!
