It's one of the most discreet and intriguing addresses in Paris: the Chalet des Iles, located on the island of the Bois de Boulogne lake. A beautiful residence so isolated from everything that you have to take a barge, the Canotière, to get there. The result is well worth the effort, with a restaurant set in a veritable historical gem, a Swiss chalet transported to Paris in parts forEmpress Eugenie , all on the larger of the two islands of the Bois de Boulogne's lower lake.
For the reopening, the chalet has been completely redesigned byarchitect Nicolas Laisné to harmonize and reconcile the facades with its history, using a lot of wood to propose a more eco-responsible building that can blend in with nature. On site, you'll find the combo that has made the chalet such a success for many years: a terrace overlooking the lake, a chalet where you can feast on refined cuisine and a unique location in Paris that almost gives you the impression of being in the countryside.
The menu has been completely revamped by chef Pierre Chomet, who focuses on gourmet, seasonal cuisine. We recommend you try the delicious gnocchi with zucchini and pistachios (not forgetting the indispensable old Parmesan), the fish(crispy, tenderoctopus, snacked sea bream, cod) or the meats(free-range poultry, beef tartare, pork belly, etc.), all of French origin. Depending on the dish chosen, the side dish will complement your meat or fish with home fries, salad or vegetables of your choice.
On the sweet side, you'll find classic French pastries with the chef's touch, such as miso tarte tatin - excellent with homemade whipped cream - lemon cream, lemon tarte-style shortbread and basil sorbet, rum baba...
If you're coming for lunch, the restaurant offers set menus: €29 for starter-main course and main course-dessert, €38 for starter, main course and dessert. Children are also catered for with a special children's menu (up to 12 years), including gnocchi, free-range poultry and French fries, and home-made ice cream for €18.
Expect to pay €16 to €28 for a starter, €24 to €36 for a main course, €7 for side dishes and €13 to €19 for dessert. The menu also includes a fine selection of wines that waiters and waitresses can recommend. Idyllic setting, tasty yet well-balanced cuisine: if you're in the mood for a lunch with a difference or a dinner that stands out from the crowd, Chalet des Îles is an address to take note of for your next gourmet outing!
