ATSU ATSU is an atypical restaurant in a pleasant setting in the 2nd arrondissement. Conceived by Christopher Wagner, a Frenchman with a love of Japan, this restaurant takes us on an instant trip to Japan.

We were charmed by ATSU ATSU, the new Japanese restaurant on rue de Richelieu. Here, you're transported to Japan from the moment you enter! The friendly atmosphere lets you relax andappreciate the ZEN culture typical of Japan.

Well, it's a bit of a cheat, since a special pit allows you to insert your legs so you're seated rather than on your knees. For those in a hurry, a counter, a take-away service and a delicatessen allow you to enjoy Japanese cuisine with complete peace of mind!

ATSU ATSU : KaraageATSU ATSU : KaraageATSU ATSU : KaraageATSU ATSU : KaraageAt ATSU ATSU, you'll eat traditional Japanese dishes with unpronounceable names, period! Away from sushi, maki and other "festive" dishes, at ATSU ATSU you'll enjoy the same dishes that Japanese people devour every day. Edamame, the soy bean in vogue at the moment, Karaage, subtly seasoned marinated chicken, and age nasu, fried eggplant with miso, melt-in-your-mouth miso, are all on the menu of this traditional restaurant.

ATSU ATSU : TakoyakiATSU ATSU : TakoyakiATSU ATSU : TakoyakiATSU ATSU : TakoyakiThe restaurant's signature dish is Takoyaki, hot dumplings cooked on the outside but melt-in-the-mouth on the inside, which even made ATSU ATSU's reputation at Japan Expo. Making these mouthfuls is a spectacle, and requires patience. Indeed, the cook constantly turns the bites on a honeycombed plate, to cook the Takoyaki evenly. You then choose the filling, octopus (Tako) or shrimp (Ebi ), and the sauce to accompany the dumplings.

ATSU ATSU : Kansaï-fuATSU ATSU : Kansaï-fuATSU ATSU : Kansaï-fuATSU ATSU : Kansaï-fuAnother dish to discover isOkonomiyaki, a generous cabbage patty topped with a choice of ingredients. The aim of the game? Successfully cook your own patty on the teppan, hotplates set up in the center of each table. For beginners, the cooks show you the steps and prepare your galette before your very eyes.

ATSU ATSUATSU ATSUATSU ATSUATSU ATSUYou can choose to enjoy an individual dish, ororder several hors d'oeuvres to share with the whole table, like tapas! Then, to finish the meal, Mochi ice cream, dorayaki, pancakes filled with red bean paste and ichigo Maki, strawberry rolls, are traditional desserts that will delight us at the end of the meal.

With ATSU ATSU, there's no need to travel around the world to discover Japan!
