This Izakaya fusion, a small bistro with 20 seats where you can enjoy sake around very good dishes, offers us a "best of" Asia. Here, the chef Quentin Puillard exalts our senses with a well-crafted menu, with four key products of Asian gastronomy: gyozas, dim sum, yakisobas and Bun bo hue.
Marky, Léo and Quentin offer three versions of each product: meat, fish and veggie. The versions change according to the seasons and the availability of products. In the dim sum of the moment, sold between 7€ and 15€: lobster dim sum, served by 3, chicken, coconut, paprika dim sum served by 4 and banh bao (buns filled with vegetables), served by 2. As far as goyzas are concerned, Marclee surprises us with its chicken and vegetable version, to die for! At 9€ for 9 gyozas, we can't resist.
At lunchtime, it is possible to take 9 gyozas with rice, tofu or a dessert between dorazaki and tapioca and a tea for 13€. The small hunger will prefer the day light menu, with an Oimo/Pumpkin soup (a killer!), accompanied by rice, tofu, dorazaki or tapioca and a tea for 11€.
In the evening, it is rather in a "tapas" atmosphere that we meet, around biodynamic sakes selected by Leo, for their incomparable flavors. We discover a well-stocked drinks menu, with 7 different sakés and 5 sake-based cocktails. Léo has set himself the goal of educating the French about sake, which is not widely recognized, but also about Japanese vodka!
Between friends, we share different plates, and as a couple, we can also indulge ourselves and share a crying tiger (25€), accompanied by a simply delicious chutney! To make the beef as melting as possible, the meat from France or Scotland is marinated between 6 and 24 hours. Surprisingly, the chef Quentin Puillard knows how to choose the flavors to combine, without ever exceeding the number of 7 flavors.
One cannot finish the meal without tasting the iced omochis, served by 3 - cherry blossom, lychee and matcha - or the tapioca coconut and candied ginger. You will have noticed that Marclee is the right place to taste good French-Asian dishes!
Note that Marclee organizes cooking classes, on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm, for 35€. We then follow the chef's advice and enjoy them around a good sake and a good tea.
