Paris first coffee shop has opened at 140 rue Amelot in the 11th arrondissement. And no, we’re not speaking about coffee but a true shop selling weed.
Enjoying a legal fuzziness, CofyShop (it’s its little name) sells products containing cannabidiol (CBD), medical marijuana molecule; but very little tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which sale and use is prohibited in France.
According to users, CBD is said to have relaxing, calming and soothing properties without the psychotropic effects.
This first Parisian coffee shop doesn’t feature seats like in Amsterdam coffee shops. Here, the client chooses his weed at the counter, weights it and leaves with it, along with a certificate provided by CofyShop confirming the THC rate doesn’t exceeds the tolerated level in France, which is 0.2%.
CBD is available in varied forms, such as herbal teas, creams, balms, oils, syrups, as well as crystals, liquids to vape, chocolate and even honey. Victim of its success, the shop has already had to bring down the curtain because it was out of stock.
Several shops already took the plunge like in Montpellier and in Lille. And facing the success, we are sure they won’t be the last!
