It's a musical moment eagerly awaited every year by many of the capital's music lovers! Every July 14th, Parisians celebrate the Fête Nationale by marvelling at the traditional fireworks display, dancing at the famous bals populaires and bals des pompiers, admiring the military parade or listening to the unmissable Concert de Paris. Usually held on the Champ-de-Mars, the rules are changing this year to accommodate the Olympic and Paralympic Games. So, while the fireworks display will take place without an audience at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, the grand Concert de Paris has been moved to the very heart of the capital, to the forecourt of the Hôtel de Ville.

Although the space reserved for spectators is likely to be smaller than that on the Champ-de-Mars, there will be plenty of surprises in store. The arrival of the Olympic flame and the lighting of the cauldron are among the events scheduled to take place in front of the Hôtel de Ville.
The symphonic concert is once again orchestrated by the Orchestre national de France, the Chœur de Radio France and the Maîtrise de Radio France. But that's not all. As every year, the greatest international soloists are invited especially for the occasion.
This Sunday, July 14, 2024, get ready to see American soprano Nadine Sierra, Egyptian soprano Fatma Saïd, French mezzo-soprano Adèle Charvet and Samoan tenor Pene Pati on the ephemeral stage set up in front of the Hôtel de Ville.
A number of talented musicians will also be accompanying these artists and orchestras, including Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili, renowned Chinese pianist Lang Lang, violinist Renaud Capuçon and cellist Gautier Capuçon, as well as Swedish violinist Daniel Lozakovich. And surprise, surprise, Thibault Cauvin and Matthieu Chedid, aka -M-, will also be on hand to accompany these artists on guitar for a track!
Together with the Radio France Choir, the Maîtrise de Radio France and the Orchestre National de France, they will perform some of the greatest classical works, on the theme of Olympism, before playing the traditional Marseillaise.
Please note that this Concert de Paris is free of charge and accessible without reservation, but subject to availability. For those who can't make it, this great symphonic concert will be broadcast live on France 2, France.tv and France Inter this July 14th from 8:45pm.
The Concert de Paris will be followed by the traditional fireworks display at 11 p.m. from the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadero gardens. This year, the fireworks display will take place without an audience.
