While confinement is extended to May 11, 2020 because of the coronavirus epidemic, some airlines such as Easy Jet, Air France and even Ryanair are getting ready to phase out and resume air traffic.

In France, as confinement is extended to May 11, 2020, the evolution of the coronavirus epidemic seems to reach a plateau, as planned by the government. Pot-confinement scenario is getting clearer: now we know more about how activities in the different sectors impacted by this health crisis will resume.

The air traffic has been highly affected by COVID-19. In France, the Orly airport even temporarily shut down and airlines are struggling. Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire even announced a massive support plan for Air France.

If Schengen area borders remain close until further notice, airlines are getting ready to resume. According to BFMTV, Air France wants to resume domestic flights when confinement is lifted to reach 30% of its flying capacity by July. British airline Easy Jet is also ready to take off in the summer 2020. Booking can also resume. Ryanair airline seems to get ready to a price war by offering flash sales on September’s flights.
