French President addressed to the French this Monday April 13, 2020. At 8 p.m., the Head of State has first confirmed confinement was extended to May 11, 2020. He then gave further details as for the necessary measures “to gradually exit” this particular situation. For unemployed, companies or even families, Emmanuel Macron promised to present “within fifteen days” a “post May-11 plan” as well as “details as for the organization of our daily life”. The President guarantees: “we will have better day and we will find happy days again”.
Emmanuel Macron’s announcements:
First, the Head of State returned on the “difficult” aspect of the period while all the lively forces of the Nations are united in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. Those he likes to call “the third line” have been honored. In addition to tribute to caregivers and civil servants, the president also wanted to take account of “all consequences in due time, when it will be time to get reorganized”. Then, Emmanuel Macron announced that confinement is extended “to Monday May 11”. “The only way to act successfully” according to him. To “slow the virus propagation down even more, to find spots available in intensive care and allow our caregivers to gather their strength”, the essential thing is to “respect the rules” beyond the limits of this date.
Moreover, the French President addressed on the equipment and material saying the State will “keep on giving more gear” such as “general public” facemasks available from the day we exit from confinement while regretting too-many “failures”. All these rules shall be “fully observed”. The sustainment of barrier gestures remains a priority for the government especially in order to resume normal life, even though “organized differently” with “special rules”. The gradual reopening of daycares and all educational places is also planned from this day. Last but not least, the President said that “we will have better days”. So far, better days will be after May 11!
