Once again this year, theOdéon - théâtre de l'Europe will be taking part. Founded in 1782, this theater has had many names in its history. The most important thing to remember is that it is one of France's five national theaters. It's an Italian-style venue steeped in almost 250 years of history. Some of the greatest plays in French literature have been staged here: The Marriage of Figaro, Ruy Blas, The Merchant of Venice, Rhinoceros and many others.

As part of the European Heritage Days, the Odéon 6e opens its doors to you for a guided tour on Sunday, September 22, 2024, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
A historic building, the Théâtre de l'Odéon was inaugurated by Marie-Antoinette in 1782. On this tour, discover how the theater's various trades are preparing tomorrow's heritage, by reexamining their practices and know-how, for a more sustainable future.
On this tour from the foyer to the main auditorium and up to the terrace, learn how history has changed the Odéon's history, and influenced its artistic evolution.
At the end of the tour, "La Face cachée de l'Odéon", a 15-minute film, reveals the secrets of the theater's machinery and opens the doors to its construction workshops, with actor Moustafa Benaïbout as your guide.
