On the program for the Journées du Patrimoine 2024? TheHôtel de Ville de Versailles, the embodiment of a true piece of history! Originally the property of one of Louis XIV's natural daughters, it passed under Louis XV to the Grand Maître de la Maison du Roi, who gave it a royal makeover. In 1790, the former Hôtel de Conti became the Hôtel de Ville, but it wasn't until 1897 that the building was completely rebuilt by architect Henri Legrand. An imposing neo-Louis XIII building, facing the Avenue de Paris, where period woodwork, vestiges of the aristocratic past, cohabits with modern architecture in this historic monument in the heart of Versailles.
