Journées du Patrimoine 2024: behind the scenes, stations... all the RATP programme in Île-de-France

RATP is revealing all its secrets through a range of tours and events in the départements of Île-de-France, on September 21 and 22, 2024, for the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days).

For Parisians, public transport is part of everyday life. Metro, bus, streetcar: they can be so familiar that you'd almost think you knew them by heart. And yet, RATP still has many secrets to reveal. The company is inviting us to take part in special tours of the different lines in its network on September 21 and 22, 2024, to mark the 41st Heritage Days.

If you've never taken part in this great cultural and popular celebration, get ready to be seduced. Launched for the first time in France in 1984, the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) return every September to open the doors of thousands of sites all over France. From the country's most famous monuments to hidden curiosities in the depths of a village, visitors enjoy a weekend of discovery.

If you're in one of theÎle-de-France departments during these Heritage Days, don't miss the RATP tours. Please note that many of these tours are only available with registration.

Saint-Germain-en-Laye

  • Guided tour of the RATP archives

    As a partner of the European Heritage Days, RATP is offering you a fun-filled journey across the network to discover its heritage: events, exclusive experiences, tours... everything is planned to get you on board!
    RATP will be opening the doors of its archives, located in a disused tunnel beneath the gardens of the Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye. You'll be able to discover precious documents (maps, metro tickets, posters, photographs...) that bear witness to the history of transport in the Paris region.



Malakoff

    As a partner of the European Heritage Days, RATP is offering you a fun-filled journey across the network to discover its heritage: events, exclusive experiences, tours... everything is planned to get you on board!

    Behind the scenes of RATP's sustainable heritage of tomorrow

    The Malakoff bus center will reveal all its secrets. You'll discover the guardhouse and maintenance site, and take part in a blind spot awareness workshop with an electric bus. You'll be able to take a souvenir photo at the wheel of the bus. The tour also includes time for discussion and a presentation of all the services provided by the machinists and the control department on a daily basis (lost and found, information, security, etc.).



Pantin

    Behind the scenes of RATP's sustainable heritage of tomorrow

    The historic Flandres bus center, which has just completed its transformation to accommodate a more environmentally-friendly bus fleet, will open its doors for a forty-minute guided tour.



Boissy-Saint-Léger

    As a partner of the European Heritage Days, RATP is offering you a fun-filled journey across the network to discover its heritage: events, exclusive experiences, tours... everything is planned to get you on board!
    Take a behind-the-scenes look at the RER A, with a visit to a signaling station commissioned in 1969. Discover the installations that enable trains to run every day, through a presentation of safety and operating issues.
