    The Conflans chapel will be open from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22.
    On this occasion, the Association des amis de la chapelle de Conflans will be celebrating its 25th anniversary.
    On the program:
    Saturday, 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm: self-guided or guided tour, with children's activities.
    4:00 pm: slide show presenting a retrospective of the activities of the Association des amis de la chapelle de Conflans since its creation.
    Sunday, 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm: self-guided or guided tours, with children's activities.
    3:30pm: Concert by the Quentin Le Jeune Quartet, with a program of Baroque music.

Heritage and photography media library

  • Exhibition of vintage vehicles
    September 21 and 22

    As last year, the MPP will be welcoming to its forecourt vintage vehicles on loan from the Fédération Française des Véhicules d'Epoque (pre-war period to the late 80s). These vehicles will be on display in front of the MPP from Saturday morning to Sunday evening.
    The three-year partnership between the FFVE and the French Ministry of Culture was signed in February 2020 by Jean-Louis BLANC, President of the Fédération Française de Véhicules d'Epoque, and Franck RIESTER, then Minister of Culture.
    The aim of this partnership is to show elected representatives and the general public of all ages that vintage vehicles are as much an integral part of France's industrial heritage as its built heritage.



  • Animation around the technique and art of fresco with the association Pari(s) Affresco
    September 21 and 22

    Demonstrations, fresco making and mediation about fresco. Three professional speakers from the Pari(s) Affresco fresco collective will lead this workshop, including Isabelle Bonzom, artist, fresco artist and author of the book "La fresque art et technique" (Eyrolles), art historian and lecturer.

  • Visit the heritage and photography media library and discover its collections
    September 21 and 22

    Guided tours of the collections
    On the occasion of the 41st edition of the JEP, the MPP is opening its doors for free guided tours of its collections in Charenton-le-Pont (11 rue du Séminaire de Conflans). Organized in groups of ten or so, lasting from 1h30 to 2h, the tours will start at 2pm and the last admission will be at 6pm.
    In addition to the permanent exhibition presenting the MPP's missions and collections (open to the public), you'll discover national heritage treasures and the rich photographic collections of the French Ministry of Culture.
    In addition, as last year, the MPP will welcome to its forecourt a number of vintage vehicles on loan from the Fédération Française des Véhicules d'Epoque (pre-war period to the end of the 80s). These vehicles will be displayed in an arc in front of the MPP from Saturday morning to Sunday evening.
    Once again this year, demonstrations of portable frescoes and mediation around the technique and art of mural painting with the association Pari(s) Affresco will take place in the hall.
    An activity for children is organized this year: come and take part in an investigation aimed at children aged 8 to 13 to discover the backstage of the MPP, its missions and its history. Duration 30 minutes, between 2pm and 6pm, registration required.
    Screenings are organized in the MPP auditorium.
    On Saturday 21st from 2pm, 30-minute stereo (3D) photo and video screenings, hosted by the French Stereo-club,
    On Sunday 22nd at 3:30pm: screening of the film Un long dimanche de Fiançailles.
    The MPP moved to the former site of the Conflans seminary in 2008. The mission of this national service (SCN), part of the Monuments Historiques administration, is to collect, preserve and promote the archives of the Monuments Historiques and Archaeology departments, which comprise 10 linear kilometers of archives and 310,000 plans, including 44,000 watercolors. In addition, the MPP is the largest photographic archive in Europe, with twenty-five million negatives and prints conserved.

    A detective story for children aged 8 to 13
    Wander the corridors of the MPP solving an investigation: Charles Garnier and Eugène Emmanuel Viollet-le-Duc, the great rivals of architecture, are at loggerheads. Jealous of Viollet-le-Duc's success, Garnier smashes one of the latter's prized possessions and hides the pieces inside the building. Follow the clues step by step and solve the investigation to help Viollet-le-Duc.

    In 1919, Mathilde is 19 years old. Two years earlier, her fiancé Manech had left for the Somme front. Like millions of others, he "died on the field of honor". It's written in black and white on the official notice. But Mathilde refuses to accept the obvious.

    This guided tour will take you behind the scenes of the T2R: the sets of both theaters, backstage, dressing rooms and all the nooks and crannies usually hidden from spectators' eyes...!
    Accompanied by a technical stage manager and a member of the administrative team, you'll discover how the theater and its machinery work.
    You'll leave with the thrill of the great auditorium's height, the smile of the actors and actresses when they're on stage, knowledge of the technical workings of a theater, and a boost of confidence after passing in front of the backlit mirrors in the artists' dressing rooms!

Charenton Town Hall

  • Guided tour of Charenton-le-Pont town hall
    Saturday, September 21, 2:00 p.m.

    A guide from the A l'Assaut Du Patrimoine association will take you on a tour of Charenton-Le-Pont's Town Hall.
    Built in the early 17th century by a close friend of King Henri IV, the Pavillon Antoine de Navarre is the oldest part of Charenton's Town Hall, and the town's only surviving building from this period. This visit will provide a lively and attractive opportunity to (re)discover the history and particularly rich heritage of this building, as well as the elements of today's town hall, from the mayor's office to the council chamber and the marriage hall.



  • Historical walk in Charenton-le-Pont
    Saturday, September 21, 5:30 p.m.

    To mark the European Heritage Days, Charenton-le-Pont Town Hall is inaugurating five audio-guide terminals, installed on the walls of five emblematic sites in the town's historic heritage. Come and discover these sites for the first time, accompanied by a guide from the A l'Assaut du Patrimoine association, who will take you on a walking tour of the town's streets and fascinating history.
