The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ) are one of the highlights of September. In Paris and throughout theÎle-de-France region, a wide range of venues are taking part, offering a vast program of visits, events and workshops at the heart of our most beautiful monuments. Museums, churches, châteaux, libraries, gardens and even places closed to the public, such as major institutions, ministries and embassies, are among the many addresses taking part in this exceptional weekend, enabling everyone to find a program to suit his or her passions.
The whole Paris region gets into the swing of the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ), celebrating their 41st edition this year. The date is usually set for the 3rd weekend in September. So, we've set the dates for September 21 and 22, 2023, to make the most of this not-to-be-missed cultural bonanza. Paris may be the center of attention, but the Ile-de-France region is also full of nuggets for you to discover! In the Val-de-Marne, for example, the town of Fresnes is unveiling several tours and events for this exceptional weekend. Want to find out what's in store? Check out the program below!
Heritage Days 2024 at the Gabriel Bourdin municipal library in Fresnes
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, which focus on sport and, more specifically, the bicycle, the library will be exhibiting 20 advertising posters from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th, from September 9 to 23. A nostalgic return to the days when the bicycle was a vector of democratization and emancipation.
Heritage Days 2024 at the Grand Orly Seine Bièvre Ecomuseum in Fresnes
Through its history, the bicycle object and its use reflect the economic, sociological and technical changes in society. Thanks to testimonials collected from local residents, the new exhibition paints a portrait of the different uses of the bicycle and the intimate relationship we have with this object synonymous with leisure, freedom, effort, emancipation and the future.
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the ecomuseum is getting airy!
After visiting the exhibition, join us in the courtyard of the Ferme de Cottinville, from 2:00 pm to 6:30 pm, to play games and exchange ideas on the theme of cycling!
In partnership with Mieux se Déplacer à Bicyclette Thiais.
