The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) take place every year on the third weekend in September. This cultural event, which is taking place all over Europe, invites us to take advantage of a wide range of activities designed to help us discover our heritage in a new light. Paris and the whole of the Île-de-France region take part, each year unveiling a fascinating program of visits, often free of charge, and events for young and old alike.
Museums, monuments, castles, churches, major institutions, ministries: every year, many places take part in the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days), offering us the chance to take part in original programming. So it's hard not to find something to suit your passions!
If you're in the Val-de-Marne region or want to get to know the area better, we'll take you on a trip to Fontenay-sous-Bois, to find out what's on. You can even take the opportunity to visit Vincennes, Saint-Maur-des-Fossés or other nearby towns for a day out!
Heritage Days 2024 at the Fonderie, a center for artistic creation in Fontenay-sous-Bois
The artists and craftspeople of La Fonderie Pôle de création artistique are here to help you discover their art.
Founded on a dual heritage, industrial and artistic, we are proud of our history and enthusiastic about our future.
The La Fonderie association brings together a wide variety of artistic expressions, covering painting, sculpture, engraving, video, photography, ceramics, metalwork, carpentry, design and architecture... This diversity is the originality and identity of the collective.
The multiplicity of artistic approaches encourages confrontations and collaborations that open up to the unforeseen and the unprecedented in a wide-open project.
We will emphasize the educational aspect of the visit, by explaining the techniques and materials used by the artists and craftsmen.
Unique art objects for sale will be created especially for the event.
Heritage Days 2024 at the Hôtel de Ville park in Fontenay-sous-Bois
The Musketeers have left their mark on history, whether in literature, cinema or 17th century reality. The Damoclès troupe will bring to life a few scenes from Alexandre Dumas' famous novel, and give you the chance to take on the role of d'Artagnan in an introductory fencing workshop.
Heritage Days 2024 at Fort de Nogent in Fontenay-sous-Bois
On the occasion of the 2024 European Heritage Days, the Foreign Legion Recruitment Group is opening the doors of Fort de Nogent to visitors on Sunday September 22 from 1pm to 5pm.
A witness to the defense of Paris: built in the 1840s and inspired by Vauban architecture, Fort de Nogent is one of the 16 sites making up the belt of fortifications around Paris ordered by Adolphe Thiers during the reign of Louis-Philippe. A witness to contemporary history, the fort stood through the 1870 war and both world wars. Perfectly preserved, visitors will discover many period features, starting with its massive 6m-high entrance door.
A guided tour by legionnaires: as soon as they arrive, groups of visitors will be taken in hand by white képis who will guide them through their visit. In addition to an anecdote-filled historical tour, visitors will be given a historical presentation of the French Foreign Legion.
